We care about the future of our planet. We recognize that we have a responsibility to reduce waste and advance recycling so that our packaging can take on a second life. From our zero-waste production facilities to our commitment to a World Without Waste, we are investing to create a better shared future for all.
In 2018, The Coca-Cola Company announced an industry-first goal to collect and recycle the equivalent of every bottle or can it sells globally by 2030. The Company and its global network of bottling partners, including Coke Northeast, have tackled this ambitious goal, which is part of a holistic plan we call “World Without Waste.” Through a renewed focus on the entire packaging lifecycle – from how bottles and cans are designed and made, to how they’re recycled and repurposed – we are committed to being good stewards of the environment. Learn more about Coca-Cola’s World Without Waste vision. Together, we can turn empty into plenty.
As part of our World Without Waste commitments, Coke Northeast is transitioning our 20oz Dasani water bottles from 30% post-consumer recycled content plastic (or rPET) to 100% rPET in the summer of 2022. At the same time, both 12oz 8 pack and 1 liter Dasani will also be changing to 100% rPET bottles. In August, we will begin converting all of our green Sprite bottles to clear plastic in order to make the bottles easier to recycle and be made into new ones.
As Coke Northeast, or through our membership in beverage industry associations, we are proud to support local environmental organizations and their efforts to keep our beaches, oceans, and rivers clean and beautiful.
